The Boardwalk Brass Band are inspired by the New Orleans brass band tradition but also incorporate influences from Jamaican, Eastern European, funk, Latin, gospel, jazz – all tied together with a sense of humour and cheeky fun.
Sousaphone player Graham put the The Boardwalk Brass Band together in 2007, surrounding himself with a collection of highly versatile jazz musicians who could take a melody and turn it into an arrangement on the spot.
The band is all about spontaneity, energy, interaction and fun. Described as “totally impossible not to enjoy”, The Boardwalk Brass Band have been inspiring people of all ages and tastes at clubs, arts centres and festivals across the UK.
The band plays their own arrangements of popular songs, classic New Orleans repertoire, interpretations of music from other genres as well as songs composed by members of the band.

Performance Options
The band offer a range of ensemble sizes from their full 8-piece down to a 5-piece the latter consisting of the essentials: trumpet, trombone, saxophone, sousaphone and percussion.
The band take requests and are more than likely to be able to respond to such midway through a performance.
Equipment
Whilst the ensemble most commonly perform roaming or standing, unplugged, they can provide amplification if necessary although this would remove any significant roaming potential.
