Raphael is fast becoming recognised as one of the country's leading jazz pianists. His hard-swinging, adventurous approach often draws comparisons to his many influences, including Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans and Phineas Newborn. Above all, he plays music that feels good, for people, not just musicians. As the master Art Blakey put it, "We are here to have a ball".
In addition performing with his own trio, Raphael is constantly in demand as a soloist and side man. He has worked with Ronnie Cuber, former Jazz Messenger Jean Toussaint, Alex Garnett, The London Jazz Orchestra and The Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He has performed at concert halls, clubs and festivals around the UK and Europe, including The Barbican, The Queen's Hall, The London Jazz Festival, The Jazz Bar and in Holland and Monaco.
Raphael’s repertoire has been built over many years in the UK and international jazz circuits. Also with a sound coverage of classical composers his performances are seamless and mesmerising.

- And a wealth of Jazz standards…
As a soloist Raphael often performs on grand pianos in situ, however he can of course supply his own stage piano.
Stormont can arrange for a grand piano delivered, installed and tuned for any occasion.
For occasions with an attendance of over 100 people we can organise for a PA system to be installed also.
